Dr. Darren Haltom, after completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of the Pacific, graduated from St. Louis University with a masters degree in Orthodontics. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontists which signifies that he has taken ‘the step beyond’ to have his finished cases judges by a panel of examiners. Darren is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, New Mexico Orthodontic Society and has been accepted as a full member by the Southwest Angle Society. He is also a member of the Super Schuman Orthodontic Study Club www.schulmangroup.com , a small group of exceptional orthodontists from across the country that have joined together to share ideas and techniques. Dr. Darren offers lingual treatment and Invisalign treatment to his patients and is proud to be one of the early providers of the Lingualcare system.

In addition, Dr. Darren completed a two year course in Detroit in 2009. This course, Advanced Education in Orthodontics, was focused on adult orthodontic treatment and the relationship between the temporomandibular joint and the teeth. Specifically it was focused on techniques to treat patients with jaw joint noises and pain. “Their is an intimate relationship between the joints and the teeth and successful orthodontic treatment requires attention to both systems and finishing them in harmony”

Dr. Darren Haltom and his wife Kimberly Statkus Haltom both grew up in Albuquerque. They graduated from the University of New Mexico. Kimberly has a degree in marketing with advanced training from the Hyatt Management School in San Francisco. Kimberly is the office manager for Haltom Orthodontics and can be found in the back office, ‘taking care of business’, during school hours.

Kimberly and Darren have two children who really keep them busy. Tanner is 16 and a 10th grader at Eldorado school. He is an active teenager involved in football, baseball, golf, snow skiing and all kinds of water sports. Kylee Haltom is 13 and is in the 7th grade at Bosque School. She currently wears braces and always wears her rubber bands, Kylee is a competitive chearleader, She competed this summer taking quite a few blue ribbons! She just won her division for a cheer leading competition for the Eldorado Eagles! Kylee is also a gymnast, a great snow skier and a perfect baby sitter for her cousin. Kimberly and Darren both volunteer their time and energy to many organizations in the community and with their children’s activities. They are both great skiers and snow/wake boarders and exercise enthusiasts.
